UV lash extensions are applied using a specialized adhesive that is instantly cured with a small UV light. This method helps the adhesive bond immediately, which can improve retention and reduce exposure to fumes during the application process.
Yes. UV lash systems used in professional lash services are designed specifically for cosmetic use and are safe when applied by a trained lash artist. During the appointment, protective eye pads are used and the UV light is directed only at the adhesive to cure it quickly and safely.
Retention varies depending on your natural lash cycle and aftercare, but many clients experience excellent retention with UV lashes. Most clients schedule fills every 2–3 weeks to maintain a full look. Good retention doesn't mean you should go LONGER inbetween fills it just means you will never look like you need a fill as much as other glue methods. Every trained lash artist knows clients need to come in every 2-3 weeks to remove the outgrown lashes and monitor their work for the safety of your lash health. Please do not trust lash techs that claim 6-8 week retention rates.
One advantage of UV lash extensions is that the adhesive is fully cured immediately. This means you do not need to avoid water, steam, or humidity after your appointment like with traditional lash adhesives.
Many clients who are sensitive to traditional lash adhesives find UV lashes more comfortable because the adhesive cures instantly, which can reduce prolonged fume exposure during the service. However, sensitivities can vary from person to person. We do offer FREE test placements, where you come in we just place a few for 24 hours and see if you react.
